Firstly make the arc into a full circle. Now there are two cases:
1. The line, which makes the angle theta with the base, either cuts it at one point or two points or two distinct points. Sir, many others have given the correct geometrical answer, but I'll demonstrate it through trigonometry. In the concerned triangle, if we apply sine rule on x,y and theta, we will get the value of sine of the angle opposite to y so we may think that now we can get the other angle by angle sum property and then the remaining side using the cosine rule. But there is a catch to this, the sine of an angle is not unique from 0° to 180° except at 90° because sin(x)=sin(180-x), so we will get 2 values for the angle and there will be 2 such triangles so it will not be a criterion for congruence. Geometrically, this means the arc will intersect the circle twice. Now remember the special case at 90°, we can say that SSA criterion works there but we just give it another name that is the RHS congruence criterion.
Sir, I thought of the very same problem when I was in 7th grade in the chapter on congruence and it took me a few days but I finally understood the reason. I didn't even ask my teachers in school because of hesitation as no student ever asks deep conceptual questions to a teacher in school. So I understood the reason myself through YouTube and deductive reasoning. Now, I'm in 11th grade and preparing for JEE and I really appreciate your work for the young minds as they're not taught properly at school and just view maths and other subjects as a burden from society which is why we get so many horrible reports of students harming themselves among other things.
