19x/10 +4y=77,
x can be, as 10 divides 19x , and number of legs is not fractional
10,20,30,40,...
19n+4y=77
4y=77-19n
y=77-19n/4,
77-19n | 4
This implies,
n is less than 5 as y is positive
Also n>0
So we just have to find n for which y is integral,
N=3
X= 30
Y =5

Sir what I have done is that I had set up the equations and finally I got a diaphontone  equation in two variables that is 19 X + 40 Y = 770 after some case bashing I have got the answer as y equal to 5 and x is equal to 30 and since y was the number of dogs the answer is 5 it is possible only because the domain is restricted to integers. Sir one suggestion is can you also bring some ioqm combi and geometry related ques and how to approach them I can easily solve number theory and algebra even 5markers but since I had not spent much time on geometry and combi  I am facing difficulty as they were not at all related to ncert till ninth . Although the basics were there they're aren't sufficient . Plzzzzz???

A/Q, 19h + 4d = 77
=> h < 77/19 <=> 1<=h<=4----(1)
Modulo 4 gives h == 3. ------(2)

From (1) & (2), h = 3 <=> d=5.

Forming equation with given data :

19x + 40y = 770

Now finding positive integral solutions of the equation :

Only (30, 5) satisfies the equation.

Hence number of dogs = 5
