I was taught to multiply the 3 x 1 and move it to the right. Then multiply the 4 x 2. That give you 3 over 8 which is 3/8.

I don’t mean any disrespect, but I’m fairly good at math, and that, for me at least, seemed to make it more confusing, especially when you try to apply it to larger or more complicated equations, including multiple operations. I get that this is a simplification and it’s meant to help them understand. I’m just saying, if they’re wired like I am, this might make more questions than answers but then again im not a visual learner so maybe it just isnt for me understanding the logic already does enough for me without the need for visual representation.
