In any other situation, having bits flip on you randomly would cause memory errors, so why would you want it intentionally? If you wanted a random number generator, sure, but for computation, it doesn't make any sense!

Quantum computers ,they say , tap into other universes.

a woman of science who uses Fahrenheit? Well. I guess she must be a PR manager of sorts - because scientists dont use retarded, imprecise units like Fahrenheit. In this case, a real scientist would've used Kelvin.

-460F is absolute zero in Imperial Units To be exact: −459.670°F (degrees Fahrenheit) −273.150°C (degrees Celsius) She meant to say they run at 0.015 K (degrees Kelvin). Which is the same increments of temperature as Celsius not Fahrenheit. Just that Zero starts at absolute zero, while C starts at the Freezing of water and 100 is the boiling point of water at sea level.
Zero for F is some arbitrary water mixture of a brine solution (ice + water + ammonium chloride or sea salt) and 100F is an average of healthy people and sick people with a temperature.
I use the temperature scale Rankine nearly every day because I am a thermodynamic engineer in the USA. And when I want to account for the density of air of Industrial Ovens, Furnaces, Refrigeration systems etc. it is quick to add 460 to °F (which is what every thing reads in the US to calculate the density of a gas from on temperature to another using the ideal gas law. Converting to C (by subtracting 32 and multiplying by 5/9) then converting to K by adding 273. It is just faster to add 460!
But most scientific measurements in C. We should have switched to the Metric system in the 70’s when I was a kid. I remember showing my dad the metric system and how I supported switching. Seems like every person who learns the Metric System before becoming an adult understands that the metric system is better than the Imperial system. All the old timers who rejected it and wouldn’t let us change are all dead now and we are still burdened with their stubborn decision. The US switched to Metric in 1975. Then Reagan disbanded the Metric Board in 1982 which effectively stalled the transition. Then in 1991 President Bush made the executive order to require the military to use the Metric system.
FUN FACT!
The U.S. is one of only three countries that hasn’t officially adopted metric: ?? United States, ?? Myanmar, ?? Liberia
The US still uses an old British system.
The Metric system was a invented in 1795
The “Imperial System” is called that because it was officially standardized and adopted by the British Empire under the British Weights and Measures Act of 1824
We (the US) are stuck somewhere pre 1824.

Something just dawned on me. I have a deep interest in brass scientific instruments from the past. These tools were fashioned from brass.
The quantum computer looks like the instruments I love. The early instruments were used to explore new ideas just like the quantum computer is doing now.
