FEMA stopped paying on day one. My house flooded. No FEMA for anybody now! Very sad. My insurance refused to pay because they are not required to cover anything which FEMA covers. So I was screwed. Thank goodness for the restoration man, I called. He was nice enough to tell me how to clean it up and steps that needed to be takent to insure black mold does not take hold. So now I am living in a moldless home with damaged door jams and no molding. I am thankful that only 3 inches came in. The water only went up one wall in my utility room and the rest was damaged molding and door jams. Ì am 70 and my children and grands helped me clean and remove the water. But fixing the damaging and insuring it does not happen again is not in my budget. I am in a low flood zone and am keep telling myself it was a one time fluke. My heart goes out to all those people in North Carolina, Arkansas, Kentucky, ect.....
