Events like the AMAs, Met Gala, Oscars etc have always been a circle jerk show pony to me. I remember in 2017, BTS was preforming their song DNA and it was the only reason I wanted to watch the AMAs. They kept teasing BTS’s performance as much as they could before every single comercial break to keep me watching. At the very last minute of the show is when BTS finally preformed. It was amazing because they were the first kpop group to perform live TV to an American audience. The AMAs just wanted the k-pop fan’s viewership ratings. They got what they wanted, but I just hate feeling strung along like they’re holding a cookie in front of my face and pulling it away when I try reaching for it. I never watched the AMAs again, I just don’t care, and the fact that they’re treating Taylor Swift like that justifies my feelings about them. It’s all a waste of time and money.
