To be fair, Taylor is going to be criticized no matter what she does. People are going to criticize her for writing, love songs and lighthearted songs about her relationship with Travis. They’re going to criticize her for writing songs about all of her past relationships or relationship relationships that her friends have had. She’s going to be criticized no matter what she does. It's OK to like something that the majority of people don’t like. I personally don’t like Cleveland and I will probably not listen to it. But why would I care that there are some people who do like it? I think most people can agree that it’s a corny song, and sometimes corny can still be nice and enjoyable, and sometimes it’s not enjoyable. And people can like different things, it’s not a big deal. However I do get a little bothered that when people try to justify liking it in a definsive way by accusing others of being allergic to fun, or that people are unintelligent, or lack media literacy for not liking something. People who are actual fans and others are allowed to give critisim if they feel like the quality of the songs is not the same.

Overall I think I understand the sentiment of Cleveland which is about finding one person who accepts you for who you are, and who does’nt try to mold you or change you, and instead is supportive and cheer you on. I just didn’t like the way she said it together with the corny music, and for that reason it’s not a good song in MY opinion. But whatever floats your boat! I like songs like five colours in her hair by Mcfly and Bangerz by Miley Cyrus, which are two corny/cringey songs that I like and other people don’t like as much, so I know the how it feels when people yuck on your yum and yoy feel like you beed to defend it or justify it. But no one needs to do that! Just go enjoy the thing you enjoy!
