They should be adapting the source material as is. "Adapting" is changing the FORMAT (books/videogames to TV/movies) BUT it does NOT mean changing the original CONTENT. There is absolutely no necessity for a change in the original content. The story of Resident Evil is that of the videogames, so branding this movie as just "Resident Evil" automatically falls into the category of FALSE ADVERTISING, regardless of how good it turns out to be.
