[ytcid:UgwXGr905sEkvMDF0hB4AaABAg] Everybody in the comments is mainly talking about "learning from mistakes,", "productive dialogues," "productive criticism," etc but what they are failing to understand or intentionally ignoring is the fact that most fans are exactly asking for the same things, except their efforts to get some clarification/acknowledgment from the boys have been met with silence. Keeping the haters and general antis aside (I mean, they would usually jump on anything to hate them), the boys, who are mostly active on various platforms, have yet to show any kind of response to the immense backlash from the fandom space. Which begs the question: Why? As a grown adult with a fully functioning brain, I do not believe celebrities should double as moral compasses in our lives. Similarly, to think that we know anyone just from consuming their content is also not true at all. But then there is the factor of the image that has been actively built by the boys and the company over the years, with all the UN campaigns and the heavy emphasis on feminist ideologies in their content, which no doubt helped them build a strong and loyal fan base. But whether those ideologies go beyond that and into their lives as well is a valid question for one to consider when they see the same guys hyping, supporting, and promoting a man well known in the industry for being violent against/ abusing women. Admittedly, plenty of artists have been guilty of the same in the past. But then again, those artists do not have the support of a fandom as loyal and huge as ARMY. I have been a fan of BTS for 10+ years and do not follow any other artist; their moral standing is not something that matters to me, but BTS's does. Should we hate on them or say they are equally as abusive as CB? No. Does this mean it is a small thing and can be overlooked bc the boys have done many good deeds in the past? No. This kind of argument is exactly what cultivates the culture that excuses abusive and violent men. (A doctor, an athlete, or a defense personnel might have done many good deeds in their lives, but their contributions to society should not excuse their crimes; unfortunately, it does in many cases. Now obv the boys aren't criminals. I'm putting this argument here to explain what culture I'm talking about.) An abusive man and everybody who stands next to him are all part of the culture that actively suppresses women/victims. Hence why many people are demanding a response. We, as a fandom, have donated to multiple causes before this and will continue to do so in the future as well, but asking for accountability and donating for the victims can exist simultaneously. Both aren't mutually exclusive. And I would argue both are equally virtuous. Armys have always been filled with mindful women appreciating art, celebrating music, and building a great community together, but when the artist in question is wrong, the same fandom will speak out against them if needed. And I think that's beautiful. There are many rn who are blindly defending the boys in their blunder, to which I can only say I wish more people knew how to think for themselves and grew a spine to take a stand.

So they should have already been informed about Chris brown violent history and present- plus several of the members are fans of chris brown so they would know more about an artist they admire than a korean person in Korea who doesnt listen to his music and hasnt traveled the world and specifically the US For years on end. I feel that some army are doing too much and sending hate to bts but some fans are trying to excuse RM and Jhope for attending his concert and taking and posting pics with him.

[ytcid:UgwMVp98-QQ_j-SMGS54AaABAg] I had no idea about how the Korean perspective was different. It's crazy how their wikipedia has very little information about CB. Everything makes much more sense to me. For example, I'm not american. I didn't even know who CB is. I literally just found out about everything recently. I realized that I had 2 of his songs in my playlist as well. So I was listening to his songs without knowing what he did and who he is. I'm not saying Namhope definitely didn't know as well, they are public figures and I think they have to be more careful because they have massive influence on people. But here is the thing, WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. We don't know if they knew or not, we don't know what they were thinking. Everyone are just ASSUMING things. Accusing them of things they have never done. And ignoring every single good things they have done, all the positive influence they had on us. It's crazy how fast some people turn on someone with just one mistake.
