[ytcid:Ugxs3f2fCnkPnOfSFbJ4AaABAg] The thing with Taylor Swift's lack of politicism right now, Trump has tried to start beef and get a reaction from her repeatedly. She is ignoring him to not give him the satisfaction. However, I understand the criticism. It is tone deaf to make songs about "f the haters I do what I want" when there are so many more important issues, not even political ones.

It's unfortunate that it has come to this, but I no longer see the woman who yearned for joy and love and peace back in folklore and evermore, or any time before that. A genocide is not something I'm willing to let her remain silent on.

[ytcid:Ugzjt1kAHWVnPIjr8lZ4AaABAg] I wonder if people consider in the Ed Sheeran discussion, what it means if he cancels his tour; what happens to everyone who has paid to see him, taken off work, traveled, booked a hotel room, hired babysitters? I am not trying to argue for or against his decision; just calling out that I don't hear consideration for what the broader implications of not continuing the tour are.

[ytcid:UgzHfOTAsWwadjFbdcF4AaABAg] Taylor swift releases a bad song (by most opinions) and it’s a scandal. She’s certainly a marketing genius. When other artists do this they fade into irrelevance

[ytcid:UgyRP0lVmDD-WEQ3l-V4AaABAg] Every clip I see out of congress needs to have circus music playing in the background. As for Taylor Swift, I'm baffled because she has only released 5 songs this year and people are acting like she's forcibly making us listen to 500 of them all at once. And given how much of her billionaire status is tied to the ownership of her own music...they just need to stop listening to her??? Like with the "Swiftologist" who I never heard of till last year when he was shitting on the Showgirl album, so I can't understand why he would listen to more of it. Each of her albums has been very different from the previous (hence why her "eras" have taken on significance), so it's exhausting to see people shroud their own subjective preferences with the idea of criticizing her supposed lack of musical growth. But whatever, if the loud few on the internet actually translates to a real drop in her popularity, maybe it'll be easier to get tickets to her next tour and I can shake my ass to Babylon in peace. And as someone who is Taylor's age and has been listening to her since the beginning, it's enough for me to know that she's a Democrat who compensates her employees extremely well and has worked to improve the standards for music artists across the board, because I don't need her to be publishing political discourses every week. That's what I watch Crashing Out for.

[ytcid:UgzxGVmlkRpsbLuGxe14AaABAg] I'm no Swiftie, and I know her mostly because she's been impossible to miss. I don't have an opinion on her new music. What I don't understand is the backlash over her politics, or her lack of them. Why should she be obligated to speak for anyone? It's admirable when people use their wealth and influence to help others, but if she chooses not to, that's her business. She can't win either way. If she tells people how to vote, they say "Stay in your lane and just sing." If she stays quiet, she's called a fraud. Whatever! Meanwhile, I think most level-headed people would agree that those clips of congressional "debates" have reached a whole new level of buffoonery.
